No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code to require the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ)to provide notice and information, as described by the bill, to certain offenders of the right to vote. TDCJ indicates it does not anticipate a significant fiscal impact as a result of implementing the provisions of the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
