HB211 by Canales (Relating to the participation of students under the supervision of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department in University Interscholastic League sponsored activities.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the University Interscholastic League (UIL) to allow students under the supervision of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department to participate in UIL activities in the same manner that UIL allows public school students to participate in activities.

The bill would take immediate effect if it receives a two-thirds vote of all members of each house of the Legislature. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
