FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB264 by Hernandez (Relating to public outreach materials to foster awareness of certain public school curriculum requirements.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Education Code to remove the requirement that required outreach materials provide an explanation of applicable course, graduation plan, and endorsement requirements for the Texas B-On-time loan program. The bill would extend the expiration date for the development and availability of public outreach materials to September 1, 2020.
Local Government Impact
There may additional costs for school districts and charters to distribute updated materials to reflect the changes to the list of financial aid program required by the provision of the bill; however, these costs are not anticipated to be significant. The cost associated with distributing updated materials would vary based on the district or charter and would depend on how the materials are made available.
