LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 13, 2017

TO:
Honorable John Kuempel, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB340 by Goldman (Relating to abolishing shampoo apprentice permits and shampoo specialty certificates.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would abolish shampoo apprentice permits and shampoo specialty certificates. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and Comptroller of Public Accounts estimate this would result in a revenue loss to the state General Revenue Fund of approximately $2,700 per fiscal year.

Based on the analysis of TDLR, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
