The bill would amend the Education Code to allow school districts and open-enrollment charter schools to use instructional materials allotment (IMA) funds to pay the salary of any employee who is directly involved in student learning or in addressing the social-emotional health of students, and to pay for the training of educational personnel involved in student learning.
Local Government Impact
School districts, open-enrollment charter schools, and other educational entities that receive an IMA, in accordance with Section 31.0211, Education Code, may chose to allocate their IMA funds differently as a result of the provisions of the bill.
