IN RE:
HB618 by Leach (Relating to certain notices and information about certain releasees from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice that are provided to or made accessible to criminal justice agencies.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to certain notices and information about certain offenders released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). The bill would require TDCJ to establish and maintain a database to provide criminal justice agencies with information about certain TDCJ releases and to provide notice to certain entities of certain warrants issued. TDCJ and the Board of Pardons and Paroles indicate any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
