IN RE:	HB833 by King, Phil (relating to the administration of educational programs for persons placed on community supervision for certain intoxication offenses.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Transportation Code to allow online programs, in addition to classroom instruction, to be offered to defendants placed on community supervision.  Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, the Department of Public Safety, the Department of Licensing and Regulation, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Criminal Justice, implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties, Bexar County and Parker County reported the fiscal impact would not be significant.
