FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB880 by King, Ken (Relating to permissible teachers assigned to a bilingual education program and the permissible uses of the bilingual education allotment provided under the foundation school program.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Education Code to authorize a school district to assign a teacher certified for English as a second language to a bilingual education program under certain circumstances. The bill would also amend the allowable uses of a district's bilingual education or special language allocation.
This analysis assumes that any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would apply beginning with the 2017-18 school year.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
