No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Human Resources Code relating to the collection of foster care information of juvenile offenders committed to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD). The bill would require TJJD to collect the information from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services during the admissions process, and to provide a report to the legislature in even-numbered years detailing foster care statistics of TJJD committed youths. The bill also directs TJJD, the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), and local juvenile probation departments to collaborate to create a method by which departments statewide are able to access this information from DFPS.
