TO:
Honorable Dan Huberty, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB933 by Longoria (Relating to a prohibition on the use of certain baseball bats at University Interscholastic League events.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would direct the University Interscholastic League (UIL) to adopt rules prohibiting the use of rolled or shaved baseball bats at UIL-sponsored games.

The bill would take immediate effect if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house of the Legislature. Otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2017.

Based on the LBB's analysis, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact
