No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the establishment of a minimum wage. The bill would allow a municipality or county to establish a minimum wage that is higher than the state adopted minimum wage.

The bill would go into effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

According to Travis and Harris Counties no fiscal impact is anticipated from the provisions of the bill.
