No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Special District Local Laws Code allowing the Texamericas Center to amend its authority and allow establishment of nonprofit corporations for special projects. The bill would also allow the Board of Texamericas Center to appoint to the board of directors for the nonprofit. The nonprofit corporation may not exercise the power of eminent domain.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
