HB1020 by Smithee (Relating to volunteer practice by an inactive member of the State Bar of Texas.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to allow the Texas Supreme Court to promulgate rules allowing inactive members of the State Bar of Texas to provide volunteer legal service.  It is assumed that implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
