IN RE:
HB1120 by Springer (Relating to the authority of a political subdivision to issue a building construction permit or final certificate of occupancy for a building or facility required to meet certain accessibility standards; requiring a related study. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the authority of a political subdivision to issue a building construction permit or final certificate of occupancy for a building or facility required to meet certain accessibility standards; requiring a related study. The bill would require the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to conduct a study regarding the effects of the changes in law made by the bill. TDLR would be required to submit a report on the completed study no later than November 1, 2018.
TDLR indicates it could absorb the costs associated with the bill within its current resources.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Municipal League, the fiscal implication to units of local government is not anticipated to be significant.
