FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

February 24, 2017

TO:
Honorable Four Price, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1148 by Davis, Sarah (Relating to emergency medical services and trauma care systems.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the Health and Safety Code relating to emergency medical services and trauma care systems. Based on information from the Department of State Health Services and the Health and Human Services Commission, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties, the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact on most counties. However, some counties could be fiscally impacted if a hospital that they own is chosen as the administrative hub.
