Honorable Dan Huberty, Chair, House Committee on Public Education
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB1150 by Davis, Sarah (Relating to duties of a school district board of trustees.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would require school boards to publish a district report by the 10th day of each month including the academic policies of the district, the current details of the district finances, the minutes of board meetings conducted during the previous month, and all district plans and objectives under consideration by the board.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
The bill's requirement to publish a monthly report of certain district activities, reports and data may have a administrative fiscal impact on school districts, but this is not expected to be significant. The information required should be readily available and many districts currently publish this information on their district website.
