No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code relating to a court order for health care for a child in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration and DFPS, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill take effect immediately upon a two-thirds votes in each house, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
