No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code to make engaging in certain activities resulting in the unlawful transfer of a firearm to certain individuals included in the terrorist screening database maintained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation punishable as a Class A Misdemeanor. It is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
