HB1264 by Burkett (Relating to the concurrent jurisdiction of certain municipal courts in certain criminal cases punishable by fine only.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedures to allow jurisdictions with a population of 1.19 million or more to expand the eligibility for concurrent jurisdiction with other contiguous municipalities to include certain highways crossing certain water supplies for a length of 2.25 miles.

According to the Office of Court Administration, the bill would have no significant fiscal implication to the state court system.

This bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
