No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Health and Safety Code relating to the delegation of death certification to attending physicians in certain counties. The Texas Medical Board indicates that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

Travis County reported the bill would have no fiscal impact.
