No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Water Code by requiring a ground water conservation district to consider the aggregate continuous acreage the retail public utility owns or leases and the aggregate continuous acreage of the inside the district not including the permitted and registered wells in the calculation.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
According to the Red River Ground Water Conservation District and the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) no fiscal impact is anticipated to units of local government.
