No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to allow a petition for nondisclosure to be filed by a person who has competed their sentence, regardless of sentence type. The bill would also make certain nondisclosure provisions apply to any crime that meets the statutory requirements regardless of when the crime for which the defendant is seeking an order of nondisclosure was committed. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
