No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code relating to a study regarding cyber attacks on election infrastructure.

Based on information provided by the Secretary of State, the Department of Information Resources and the Department of Public Safety, this analysis assumes any additional work associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed by the agencies using existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house or on September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
