No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Human Resource Code to establish procedures governing claims alleging certain violations of the prohibition against discrimination on the basis of disability. The bill would require a claimant to provide written notice of an alleged violation before filing an action to allow a respondent an opportunity to cure the violation.
The Office of Court Administration and Office of the Attorney General anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
