HB1514 by Isaac (Relating to the labeling of wine as originating from this state.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code to entitle the appellation of origin indicating the wine's origin as being from the state of Texas only if 100 percent of the wine is derived from grapes grown in the state and if the wine is fully produced and finished in the state. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission reports the costs and duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
