No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to prohibit a municipality, county or other political subdivision from enacting or enforcing an ordinance that restricts the ability of a property owner to remove a tree or vegetation on the owner's property if the owner believes the vegetation poses a risk of fire. The bill provides exceptions.

The bill would take effect immediately if the bill receives a two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
