HB1608 by Minjarez (Relating to creating a pilot program to provide summer internships for foster children.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code relating to creating a pilot program to provide summer internships for foster children. Based on information provided by the Department of Family and Protective Services and the Health and Human Services Commission, it is assumes that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house, otherwise this bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
