LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 5, 2017

TO:
Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1620 by Sanford (Relating to a voluntary temporary caregiver program providing temporary care for children removed from their homes.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code relating to a voluntary temporary caregiver program providing temporary care for children removed from their homes. This analysis assumes that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house; otherwise this bill takes effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
