No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code relating to the creation of a program to assist foster care youth and former foster care youth in accessing higher education, career information, and skills certification. Based on information provided by the Department of Family and Protective Services and the Texas Workforce Commission, it is assumed that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
