No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code allowing public transit motor buses in the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) to drive on the shoulder of a highway designated by Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
According to TxDOT any fiscal impact from implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed with existing agency resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
