No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code relating to waiving governmental immunity from mandamus actions arising from a county's or a sheriff department's failure to comply with some final decisions of civil service commissions and district courts. 
 
The bill would take effect immediately if the bill receives a two-thirds vote in each chamber; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
