No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to allow a board of park commissioners to create reasonable rules concerning the use of parks administered by the board. An offense against these rules is punishable as a Class C misdemeanor. Fines collected are deposited into the county's general fund.
According to the Parks and Wildlife Department, the bill is not anticipated to have a fiscal impact on the state.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

A Class C misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of not more than $500. Costs associated with enforcement and prosecution could likely be absorbed within existing resources. Revenue gain from fines imposed and collected is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal impact. In addition to the fine, punishment can include up to 180 days of deferred disposition.
