No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code relating to certain awards conferred for outstanding achievement or service to the state, and create the Texas Medal for the Defense of Freedom.

The agency reports any costs related to the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017.
