No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code related to the intake and disposition of records at at animal shelters and releasing agencies.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Association of Counties, Harris County reported the fiscal impact would be less than $150,000 per year.
According to Bell County the shelter would have to hire a FTE to comply with the reporting requirements and would need additional storage for the new records.
