No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code relating to procedures for certain hearings in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship filed by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Based on information provided by DFPS, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
