No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to allow county pretrial services offices to impose a new supervision fee of up to $60 per month from defendants participating in a pretrial diversion intervention. Requires these funds to be deposited in a special fund of the county treasury for the pretrial service office serving the county. Restricts use of this fund to the county diversion program.
According to the Comptroller of Public Accounts, the bill would have no state revenue implications because supervision fees are retained at the local level.
According to the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated.
According to the Department of Criminal Justice, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
