No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code to make confidential all employment information submitted to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, including a copy of the information retained by the submitting law enforcement agency.  It is assumed any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within current resources.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receipt of a two-thirds vote of all the members elected to each chamber.  Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
