No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to preauthorization and concurrent review of certain health care services under the workers' compensation system.

The Department of Insurance, State Office of Risk Management, Texas A&M University System, and University of Texas System assume any additional work associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Based on information provided by the Department of Transportation, this analysis assumes any additional work associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed by the agency using existing resources.

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Municipal League, the fiscal impact to municipalities is not anticipated to be significant.
