No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to limit the circumstances under which a do not resuscitate (DNR) order is considered valid in certain health care facility and assisted living settings. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. The Health and Human Services Commission and the Texas Medical Board anticipate any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
