No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code relating to annexation of an area without consent. The bill would only apply to a municipality with a population of 550 to 750 and is located in a county that is adjacent to a county with a population of 1.5 million or more and contains a municipality in which at least 75 percent of the county's population resides.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
