No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Water Code and the Government Code relating to the revocation or amendment of a certificate of public convenience and necessity for water utilities in a service area. Based on the analysis of the Public Utility Commission (PUC), duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to PUC, the bill would have no fiscal impact on local government.
