No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Education Code to require the Texas Education Agency to develop a policy governing reports of child abuse or neglect by school districts and charter schools, and would amend the Family Code to require that school district and charter school employees report child abuse or neglect to both the Department of Family and Protective Services as well as law enforcement.
