HB2214 by Schofield (Relating to cemeteries in certain municipalities.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to permit municipalities wholly or partially located in a county with a population of 3.3 million or greater to authorize the establishment or use of a cemetery within the boundaries of that municipality.
According to the Funeral Services Commission, no fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house. If it does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, it would take effect September 1, 2017.
