No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would create a joint interim committee, comprised of certain members of the Senate and House of Representatives, to study the feasibility and desirability of creating and maintaining a coastal barrier system. The bill would require the committee to provide a report on its findings and any recommendations to the governor and the legislature no later than December 1, 2018.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
