LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 14, 2017

TO:
Honorable John Kuempel, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2278 by Phillips (Relating to the solicitation of business by a distiller's agent.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code by repealing Section 15.04, which restricts the holder of a distiller's agent's permit from soliciting a business directly or indirectly from the holder of a mixed beverage permit or a private club registration permit under certain circumstances. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission reports the costs to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
