IN RE:
HB2286 by Landgraf (Relating to the qualifications for service as a grand juror and to the selection of grand jurors.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure as it applies to grand jury service. The bill would allow a judge to summon as many prospective grand jurors as necessary. It would make changes to align certain terms with the Election Code. The bill would change certain exemptions from grand jury service to align with exemptions from petit jury service. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished with existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
