No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code relating to prerequisites to asserting certain claims arising from certain construction defects. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, Board of Architectural Examiners, Board of Professional Engineers, Board of Professional Land Surveying, and Board of Professional Geoscientists, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Municipal League, the fiscal impact to municipalities is not anticipated to be significant.
