Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2373 by Miller (Relating to the period for filing a claim for reimbursement for certain ancillary services under the Medicaid program.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to allow providers to file Medicaid claims for ancillary services, provided to recipients who are homebound or who reside in a nursing facility, up to 365 days from the date the service was provided. The executive commissioner of HHSC would be required to adopt any rules necessary to implement the bill by October 1, 2017.
According to HHSC, there would be some administrative and technology costs associated with the provisions of the bill, but it is assumed that they can be absorbed within HHSC's existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
