LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 24, 2017

TO:
Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2375 by Muñoz, Jr. (Relating to a report on cost savings attributable to the Medicaid managed care program.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to submit a biennial written report, related to Medicaid managed care, to the legislature. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house; otherwise, it would be effective September 1, 2017.

Based on the analysis provided by HHSC, the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
