Honorable Dan Flynn, Chair, House Committee on Pensions
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2414 by Fallon (Relating to the nonconfidential status of certain state pension information.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to prevent the Employees Retirement System of Texas from withholding as confidential the name and annuity amount of a current or former member of the Legislature who receives a service retirement annuity.
The Employees Retirement System indicates that any additional workload under provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote from each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. Otherwise it would take effect September 1, 2017.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
